The Reykjavik Marathon will take place on Saturday, August 23rd 2025. More details about the program can be found here.

Nearly 11.000 people participate in the Reykjavik Marathon each year, with participants coming from many different countries. Here you can access the race's participant list.

All participants will receive a participation medal. First three men, women and non-binary in all distances with competition ticket will get a medal, prize money and gifts from the race sponsors. Age group prizes will also be given for participants with competition ticket. See further information about prizes here.

The starting line is located on Sóleyjargata and the finish area is on Lækjargata. Here you can see a map that explains the location of both the start and finish areas.

The Reykjavik Marathon offers three race distances, along with a fun run that includes a 3 km and a 1,7 km route. This ensures that most participants can find a suitable distance.
